We always tell our customers to be proactive. If your neighbor has a dead, sick, or leaning tree that poses a threat to your property, do not wait until it’s too late! Send them a letter detailing the problem, ask them to remedy the problem, and include photographs. If your neighbor doesn’t fix the problem, send the letter again using certified mail. Keep a paper trail so that if the tree ever falls on your property or home, you have proof that the neighbor knew about the dead, sick, or leaning tree. Keeping this paper trail can help you prove that your neighbor is liable!
